My Germany Trip Part 3: Munich

I finally finished exams on Friday but it's already the start of a new semester. I kind of wish we had a week vacation or something but I'm actually really looking forward to the new semester.

For this post, we're taking it back to my day in Munich during my trip to Germany last month. We took the train from Nuremberg around noon using our German Pass, which ended up being extremely useful during our stay. For around 150 euros, we had unlimited use of the public transport system for 5 days. Totally recommend it to anyone planning to go to Germany.

My friend had been sick for a while and I unfortunately got it from her. I was feeling pretty dead by the time we arrived to the hotel but the free upgrade made things a little better.

We decided to just get out in the hopes that the outside air would make us feel a bit better and entered a restaurant called Augustin (I think that's the proper full name).

I ordered a meat ensemble and before I knew it, the excitement of the food blew my sickness away. For a while at least.

When I think Germany, I think of a couple of different foods, and one of them is Apple Streudel. My friend is practically obsessed with them so she ordered that. I decided to go for the Cream Streudel instead which was actually just as good. The size was actually a LOT bigger than what I had anticipated and so even a glutton like me couldn't quite finish it.

And of course, we had to stop by the Christmas Market.

This gigantic Christmas Tree was absolutely gorgeous. Europe is constantly re-reminding me that it is prettiest at night.

We took a stroll around the city the next day and found this Church. We wanted to go up to the top and get a bird's eye view of the city but unfortunately we couldn't:( We did get to see the beautiful interior though.

One of our final stops in Munich was the Residenz Hall, where royalty stepped foot indoors a couple hundred years ago. It's still mind blowing to me that I was in the same place as some very important people.

My friend had been telling me about some surfers in Munich and even though it was a bit difficult for me to grab an image in my head of how that would look, we decided to go find them. This ended up being quite a difficult hunt so we snapped photos here and there at various photo-ops.

This is actually in the middle of a huge park. It was a bit bizarre to see so much nature in such a busy city but it was beautiful and was a nice break from the hustle and bustle.

And we finally found them! They actually weren't too far away from the entrance we took but because they were at the exit, we ended up walking around the entire park before finding them.
Mid-winter, major city, and surfing. Something doesn't seem quite right but these surfers were really good and not gonna lie, it was pretty cool.

See you back for Frankfurt!

There are days when it is just not my day. Today's that day.
I literally spent all morning lying down catching up on Vlogmas videos and then sitting down at the library reading document after document for my I could not have been more mute and yet I feel absolutely drained. And I had actually intended to write a few pages for my thesis but I have absolutely no motivation and ended up doing the "easy stuff" and just collected data.

On a brighter note, I finally got a haircut. My reason for liking to have shorter hair in the winter is quite simple: I hate having my hair get static-y after wrapping it around with my scarf. Japan has this wonderful opportunity to be a "Cut Model" and get a haircut for maybe a fourth or a fifth of the original price. Basically, trainees or assistants of the salons practice different styles on you and maybe snap a few before and after photos. Some people prefer to have their hair done by professionals but ho…

Hello again.
I'm alive and well and slightly busier/have more responsibility on my hands  since the last time that I posted. Let's just first begin by saying that I am officially a college graduate. Here's the cake and plate of gigantic Gyozas that I celebrated with:

I'm starting my new job soon in Hakata, which is located in the Fukuoka prefecture.  I've moved into my new apartment, which I'm really loving but the last two months have just been such a whirlwind of prepping for graduation, moving, and getting things ready for my new job, that I'm just glad I can see finally start seeing an end to the commotion. Of course work is going to be a whole new journey but for the time being, I'm glad I have a roof over my head. My room has this loft and the stairs going up to it is basically a bunch of shelves. It's my bookshelf for now and it's looking pretty cool. I have a couple more books getting sent over an…
