I almost forgot it was Sunday! Oops. Anyways, this week was a bit hectic but quite an eventful week.
We celebrated a friend's birthday at Oedo Onsen where we just relaxed in hot baths all evening. I could not have been more at peace after hours in the library frying my brains. Honestly, I needed that. We chilled afterwards with some shaved ice for me and ramen and curry for the other girls.

I do some administrative work for the company I currently work for, which is mostly in preparation for international conferences/events that take place in Japan. I sometimes get to participate in these events and this time, it was as an interpreter. I've done interpreting quite a number of times and I feel a little more confident each time I finish that certain event. It's a skill that I would love to improve on so I'm glad I really enjoy doing it!

11.22.63

I can't really say whether this week went by fast or slow for me. The library has been my home and I can't really get my mind to stop from constantly thinking about what I should be doing next. I don't really know how to just "rest" anymore.
I watched a TV series called 11.22.63, which I had actually started on my plane ride from Paris. It's about a man who goes back in time to prevent Kennedy's assassination and I finally got back to finishing this mini-series that I ended up really enjoying.

Oktoberfest

Gosh this week has just not been easy for me - one stressful event after another just keep on piling up and I'm ready to explode. It's kind of hard to imagine that just last weekend I was in Yokohama to enjoy the Oktoberfest with some good friends and beer...guess it all just started after that. Anyways, let's just call this week one big unstable emotional mess.
Spotify came to Japan! (finally!) Well actually it was released I believe a couple weeks ago but I finally got to downloading it last weekend. The soundtracks are a little different to me only because I first downloaded the app when I was in France, where the music and vibes catered to the French audience. I'm definitely hearing a lot more Japanese songs, which I don't usually listen to, but the whole point of Spotify is to discover new music right?!

Dramas, Films, and Such

I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed from seeing so many people with the start of the new semester so I decided to take some this week for myself.
I am obsessed with the show The Blacklist. I sped through the first 3 seasons and now I am all caught up. I don't think I've been this crazy about a show since Grey's Anatomy.

YouTube is my go to to watch French videos in the name of "practicing my French" but I decided to go for a change and found some French films that I enjoyed.

”Paris, Je t'aime”
”Les Saveurs du Palais"

”Comme un Chef"

My favorite film<3
(ok, I know there isn't much French in this film but I really like it)

”Julie and Julia"

Tokyo Fish Market

Aaa summer break.  I remember back in grade school when I looked forward to, yet dreaded, this time of the this time of the year.  I like to think that I've gotten a bit wiser than those good ol' times and have learned to make better use of the precious 3 months that I can spend however I want. I would have to say that summer this year was preeeettttyy awesome.
Tsukiji is where the famous (and huge) fish market is located in Tokyo and I took a trip down to see it before they relocate it to start construction work for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. While its pretty cool to see the city move forward for such a huge event, there's something that just pulls a bit at your heartstrings to see a place with so much history go.
